Introduction of a new dedicated server....

Hi,

I finally decided that I had enough of running web servers on Windows OS. As such, I am reassigning one of the Linux servers that I use for other personal use to RKSzone. Continuing our tradition of naming physical dedicated servers after ships in Stargate, the new server will be called "Orion" after the Ancient ship Orion in Stargate Atlantis.

Once the server is ready, I will begin testing the server and configuring it to migrate the RKS website onto it. This process is expected to finish within a few days. Once migration has begun, the procedure should be completed in a few hours.

Its specs are in line with Prometheus and Beliskner.

4GB RAM
Dual 1TB HDD RAID1
100Mbps Connection
CentOS5 32Bit

I have the source dedicated server running quite nicely under Linux here too - Shame there's no decent web-based control panel software (yet!)

I use windows for hosting game servers because of the web based control panel for game servers (TCAdmin). They're going to make a linux version soon.

This server hates me. First thing I do, I restart it. It doesnt want to start back up. LOL
